Cum Laude Tour

GLA Top Ten Tour
Global Leadership Academy once again challenged the norm! Our Grade 8-12 Top Ten Academic candidates’ hard work has not gone unnoticed! As reward for those who maintained an average above 75% in the first three terms, Ms. Adette Bos and Mr. Paul du Plessis organised a three-day tour to Mossel Bay (from the 25-27th September).
These academics were anything but nosy book-worms as the adventure bug bit them on the first day of the tour. Their first stop was at Tsitsikamma Canopy Tours where they learned more about the local forestry as they glided through the tree tops. Next they stopped at the Bartolomeu Dias Museum in Mossel Bay and explored the life size model of Dias’ ship. Their adventure continued into the Plett Puzzle Park. Here their brain power was really tested as they had to find their way out of the maze and solve tricky puzzle boxes along a forest walk. One of the teachers couldn’t help but comment: “Wow, this is a-maze-ing!” The last stop on the tour was at Monkey Land and Birds of Eden where they saw the importance of caring for the environment and the horrible consequences of illegal pet trade.
With their brains refreshed these strong academics have one more term till the end of the year to show what their made of and to show the school that they deserve the same reward next year.
We want to say a big thank you to our sponsors: Bees Land Slaghuis, Jetco Transport and Tsitsikama Adventures who helped make this tour such a success!
