Athletics Day

Local is lekker! On Wednesday 30 January 2013 Global Leadership Academy had their fourth annual Athletics meeting. What made the Athletics meeting special this year was that instead of driving through to Port Elizabeth, we held the meeting on local soil! 

Thanks to Mr. Piet Hancke and Herman van der Merwe, as well as the enthusiasm and hard work of teachers and other helpers, we had the opportunity to create our own Athletics field at Mentorskraal Country Estate.

The day was a great success! The three colour houses did a great job representing each house and the students, teachers and parents showed great excitement and enthusiasm on the day. The competition was nail biting at certain stages, filled with individual brilliance, but even more so, amazing team effort! At the end of the day, competing and participating as a unit counted the most and the Gabriel’s (red team) walked away as the winning team. 

It was wonderful to see the large amount of students who participated in the various track and field items and as always, some parents and teachers also provided lots of laughter and joy as they participated in some of the items.

Global Leadership Academy would like to thank everyone who helped in a small or big way to make the day a massive success. A special word of thanks goes out to each staff member, Global Challenger, student and parent who participated on or off the field.
