SA Champs for Performing Arts

GLA SA Champs Team smallThese past few months have seen no less than seven Global Leadership Academy students and one GLA staff member hard at work in preparation for the South Africa Championships of Performing Arts. The group gave up their holiday to rehearse and then made the trek to Rustenburg, home of the national round for the past 12 years. The efforts were not in vain and they returned home with 14 medals, four of which were gold as well as a division winner and a grand champion award (Suiyen Smith - acting).

As a result of their outstanding performances, Yolanda Soji and teacher Suiyen Smith were invited to perform in the final Showcase, a 'best of the best' evening of the year's talent.

We also congratulate four of the participants for being selected to represent South Africa at the World Champs in Los Angeles in July this year. Well done to Yolanda Soji, Suiyen Smith, Olwethu Katoo and Katelynn da Costa.
