GLA Trolley Race

Trolley Race SmallOn Saturday morning the parking area in front of Fountains Mall was transformed into a high intensity racing track that produced many laughs and enjoyment from a spectator side. On the participants side things were a little more difficult with teams having to navigate turns while ducking the numerous water balloons flying at them at every turn!

This year’s sponsors were Fountains Mall, Steers, Langkloof Bricks, Woodlands Dairy, Sandra from Real Nice Properties, Spar-Jeffreys Bay, Smhart Security, Caltex Wavelands, Pick n Pay and Ubuntu Bricks. Victroy Christain School and Jeffreys Bay Primary both entered two teams for the race which meant 14 teams participated in this years event.

Congratulations to Fountains Mall who won the prize for best trolley an pit stop and Spar – Jeffreys Bay who won the race.

The overall results were:

Trolley and Pitstop

1. Fountains Mall (Grade 11A)

2. Sandra from Real Nice Properties (Grade 9A)

3. Pick and Pay (Grade 9E)

Race Winners

1. Spar – Jeffreys Bay (Grade 12 A)

2. Victory Christian School

3. Steers – Jeffreys Bay (Grade 11 E)

On behalf of GLA we would again like to thank every parent, sponsor and student who made this event such a success and a special thanks to the spectators who made sure we all got a good dose of water balloons…
