GLA's talent goes to South African Championships

This year Global Leadership Academy saw four students and one teacher qualify to represent Eastern Province at the recent South African Championships of Dramatic Arts in Rustenburg. 
 
Aviwe Sibeko, Amber Blake, Mignon Venter , Olwethu Katoo and teacher Suiyen Smith competed across three disciplines, and took part in 51 items collectively. This year the group brought home an array of medal : Olwethu Katoo - 1 bronze (singing), Amber Blake - 2 silver, 2 gold (group acting), Mignon Venter – 1 gold, 2 silver, 1 bronze (singing) and 2 gold, 2 silver (group acting) with Suiyen Smith 2 gold, 3 silver (solo acting), 2 gold, 2 silver (group acting), 1 silver, 1 bronze (singing) and 1 silver, 1 bronze (dancing) as well as overall age group trophy for acting. Mignon venter, Amber Blake and Suiyen Smith were selected to present Team SA at the upcoming world Championships of Performing Arts in Hollywood, California in July. 
 
All the girls can be proud of their participation as they all grew immensely. We look forward to participating next year and growing in strength as Jeffreys Bay is proving good competition for the top Johannesburg schools and studios.
