GLA Excells at Athletics Championships

Fifteen athletes from Global Leadership Academy took part in the Sarah Baartman Athletics Championships on 19 February. Collectively they received 8 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. Blaze Thompson also broke the record for High Jump boys under 19. The athletes that took part were: Shana Zunckel, Juané Els, Abigail Lubbe, Jani Guldenpfennig, Annabelle Hift, Suné Waugh, Lanroe Rens, Lunathi Tshunungwa, Jayden Els, Jacques Symmington, Kirk Hendricks, Giovanni Campher, Aiden Prinsloo en Blaze Thompson.

Eight of these learners were also chosen to compete at the Eastern Cape Athletics Championships that will be held in East London on 4-5 March.  These learners are:  Shana Zunckel, Jani Guldenpfennig, Annabelle Hift, Lanroe Rens, Lunathi Tshunungwa, Jayden Els, Aiden Prinsloo and Blaze Thompson.
