The Gruffalo

gruffalo-thumbGlobal Leadership Academy’s Drama department had their first class outing on 27 January when teachers and students took to the Savoy Theatre where they watched a production of The Gruffalo. Directed by award winning director, Tara Notcutt, the production had an audience of young and old in laughter.

The Drama students also had the opportunity to watch Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat at the Port Elizabeth Opera house. They could not wait to see all the country had to offer when this smash musical by Pieter Torien Productions finally came to Port Elizabeth.

Stage legends Anton Litingh (Cats, Beauty and the Beast, Jersey Boys, Annie) and Duane Alexander (Cats, Singing in the Rain, Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat) presented their acclaimed musical theatre workshop the weekend of 10-12 February in Port Elizabeth. Lisa Blaauw, Rachel Blaak, Abigail Cuyler and Claudette Smith attended the “triple-threat” training and enjoyed drinking in years of entertainment industry experience.
