New GLA Soccer Kit

Christmas came early this year when a complete soccer kit was donated to the GLA soccer team.  Teachers, overwhelmed with joy, ran down the school aisle showing the new kit to each classroom.

It all started when Mrs. Monica Banda, one of the GLA teachers, contacted an old friend, Martin den Dekker in The Netherlands.  He, in turn, got the shirts sponsored from the Mazda dealer in Hoofddorp, The Netherlands.  The rest of the kit, the balls, pump, socks, shorts, keeper gloves, bips and an extra set of white shirts he either bought or got donated from the Rob van der Geest Sport 2000 Sport shop.  Therefore, GLA is now connected to the Soccer Vereniging Oude Wetering in The Netherlands!

Then came the long wait of almost 4 months as the kit was shipped via container to South Africa.  It finally arrived last month, just in time for the start of the soccer season.

Now the students are especially happy and proud that they have their own outfit with which to play matches.
